Our roots

YogaOne was founded by husband and wife, Thomas and Belinda Franklin. They opened their doors in Penarth in September 2013, offering a space dedicated to the precision, discipline and accessibility of Iyengar Yoga.

 B.K.S. Iyengar

Iyengar Yoga is a detailed, structured and accessible style of yoga developed by renowned Indian yoga master B.K.S. Iyengar. Practised worldwide for its clarity and depth, it’s a rigorous method that emphasises precision, alignment and intelligent sequencing.

A safe, methodical and explorative discipline, Iyengar Yoga is suitable for all, regardless of age, body type or ability. Classes use supportive props and modifications, enabling students to achieve the full benefits of each posture at their own level.

A note from our founder

Yoga is a method of personal growth and self development.

Its ultimate aim is emancipation but along the way the benefits are many. Through its practice, one feels more whole, complete and integrated. Put simply, the practice of yoga optimises the human experience.

Step into a calm, light-filled space designed to inspire focus, balance and connection. The Great Yoga Wall a unique feature that wraps around the room — we believe it's the first of its kind in Wales.

The studio measures 55 square metres, with underfloor heating, a solid oak floor, and Birch plywood wall panels finished with a non-toxic oil, creating a natural, soothing environment.

This innovative system supports and enhances the discipline of Iyengar Yoga, offering endless ways to explore postures safely and effectively. It makes the practice truly accessible for everyone, whether you’re just beginning, or deepening your yoga journey.
